How to install the coming soon pages

Start by unpacking the download folder free-divi-coming-soon-page-bundle.zip.

Inside this folder, you will find the JSON file divi-coming-soon-pages.json.

In your WordPress dashboard navigate to Divi > Divi Library. Click on the import & export button and start by importing the file divi-coming-soon-pages.json.

After the import is complete you should see 3 layouts in your Divi Library (if you do not see this you might need to refresh).

Import a coming soon page layout

Create a new page on your website, This page will be the coming soon page you can name it as you like for example coming soon.

Click on the button Use Divi builder.

On the next screen click on “Choose a premade layout”

From here click on the tab “Your Saved Layouts”.

Here you will find your 3 imported coming soon layout pages. Choose the layout you want to use. You can use the demo website for reference on how they look.

Click on save and publish your page afterward.

Disable the header and footer for the coming soon page

The header and footer will still be visible on this page to disable those navigate to Divi > Theme Builder.

Click on Add New Template.

Then click on Build new Template.

From here assign this template to your coming soon page. Hover over Specific Pages and from that list choose your coming soon page. The name of your coming soon page might be different from mine it depends on how you named your page in the previous step.

Click on Create Template.

In my images you will see a Global Header and Footer, it might be empty for you in case you are not using any. The steps are still the same.

You can now click on the eye icons beside the header and footer. This will disable them for this template.

When you do not need the coming soon page anymore you can also remove this template by hovering over it and clicking on the 3 dots.

From here you have the option to delete it.

How to customize the coming soon layouts

You can just customize all the elements from within the visual builder. Of course, you can also add more Divi modules to these layouts.

For the coming soon layouts versions 2 and 3 I have used a code module with some additional CSS code.

You can find this module by switching to the wireframe mode (left-bottom icon).

I will explain the code that I have used and how you can alter it in case you need to.

Coming soon layout V2

The CSS code for this one is just for the styling of the email opt-in form module. Customizing the button color can be done through the option module settings.

Coming soon layout V3

This one has the same code for the opt-in module as V2 but also some additional code for the countdown timer.

To change the red background color open this code module and at the top, you can change the red background color code.

How to enable the maintenance mode page

When your coming soon page is created you can set it as the home page so website visitors will see this page.

To do this navigate to Settings > Reading

Under “Your homepage displays” set the static page to your coming soon page.

When you do not need the coming soon page you can set this back to the home page.

How do I preview Divi fonts?

Divi uses the Google fonts collection for its fonts. This is an ever-growing collection and consists as of today of 1482 fonts.

That’s a lot of fonts, and there are 2 ways to preview them.

Preview in Divi

You can preview the Google fonts in Divi builder by opening any module that comes with a text field. Then go to the design tab and under text, you can expand Text Font.

Hovering over a font type will load a preview of that font.

This is very tedious to do and I recommend doing the following method.

Preview Google fonts from the website

The easiest way to preview them is from the Google fonts site and this is my preferred method.

When you are on the website you can enter some text as a preview.

You have some more options such as changing the text size and you can use some filter options.

How do I change the default font in Divi?

The default Divi font is Open Sans and it is very easy to change this.

Navigate to Divi > Theme Customizer.

And from here go to General Settings > Typography and under header and body font you can set the font type for the entire website.

While you are in this window, you can also change the following:

Body text font size: This is the text size of the body.

Heading font size: This is the header text sizes (h1, h2, h3, etc).

Body line height: This is the space between the text lines.

Header line height: This is the space between the header lines.

Header font style: You can set the headers to bold, italic, or uppercase or give them an underline.

Header letter spacing: This is the space between the letters of the headings.

Body link color: This is the color of your text links.

Body text color: This is the color of the body content.

Header text color: This is the color of your headings.

How do I add new custom fonts to Divi?

Adding custom fonts to the Divi font list will allow you to work with the exact type of font that you need for your project.

The two supported file formats for custom fonts are TTF (TrueType Font) and OTF (OpenType Font). However, if you have a font in a lesser-known format, you can use an online font converter to get it into one of the two compatible formats.

A free font converter tool is Font Squirrel.

It only takes a few minutes to upload and add your own custom font to the Divi builder.

Step 1: download a custom font

For this example, I will be uploading a custom font named Coolvetica from the website Dafont.

I click on Download (top-right) and my font will be downloaded. You have to unzip the download folder and the fonts will be inside it.

All of the files are OTF and that is supported by Divi so we do not need to use a converter tool.

Step 2: Upload your custom font

Open any Divi module with a text field and navigate to the Design tab. Under Text click on Text Font (Same process as to change a font type) then click on Upload.

Give your font name a title and upload all the font files (OTF in my case) from the unzipped folder

After you click on upload your new font is visible under the Custom Fonts tab.

Custom fonts are not working

If you have any issues with uploading your own custom fonts in Divi then this troubleshooting section might help you.

How to fix the error: ‘Sorry, you are not allowed to upload this file type’

If you get this message when you trying to upload your fonts then WordPress is not allowing it. WordPress does this for security reasons.

You can add a simple code snippet to your wp-config.php file so it will allow uploading these files.

Note: make a backup before editing this file

Navigate to your root folder either with FTP or through your hosting dashboard. Open the wp-config.php file and scroll to the line “/* That’s all, stop editing! Happy publishing. */”

Place this snippet above that line:

define(‘ALLOW_UNFILTERED_UPLOADS’, true);

If you want you can remove that code after uploading your fonts.

Upload both font formats TTF and OTF

To make sure your fonts will be working on all browsers you have to upload both font formats.

If you downloaded a font and only got one font type then you can convert that to the other type with this free tool https://convertio.co.

How do you set Divi font sizes for H1, H2, and H3 globally?

You can set the sizes of the headings in Divi > Theme Customizer however, there is only one setting for it and you do not have control over each heading.

I always use custom CSS for my heading sizes. You can place the following snippets in a Divi child theme if you are using one or you can place the snippets in Divi > Theme Options > CSS.

Nursing Home Blog Layout

This blog grid layout uses some great dynamic elements such as a featured image at the top with the blog title and meta elements. Next to the blog title, you will have an opt-in box, so your visitors can easily subscribe and join your email list.

The featured image is created with a post title module, under featured image placement you have an option for Title/meta background image, enabling that option and the post title and meta will be on top of the background image.

The post content is created with a Divi blog module and displays the dynamic content such as the featured images, post title, meta-text, and post excerpt.

What I do not like is that the height of the blog posts is not equal however, this is easy to fix you can adjust the length of the body content so that all posts have equal height.

Financial Blog Post Page

This Divi blog post template is quite long and created in the Divi theme builder. I will give a breakdown of how this is created.

The top section is a background with the featured image. Inside this section, there is a row with a post-title module.

Under the featured image you will see the content of the post, this is created with the post content module.

Because this post layout is so long I have split the image. Under the post content, there is a selection for related posts. This is created with 2 blog grid modules, the top one is set to 2 columns, and the bottom one to 3 columns.

After that, you see a section with a dark blue background color with an opt-in box and blog categories.

This follows with a section for the author bio, which includes the author’s image and description.

The comments section is designed in a styled box which makes it jump out.

What is Divi Cloud?

Divi Cloud saves all your Divi layouts, allowing you to access and use them anywhere while logged in allowing you to work on any Divi project with your pre-built templates, optimized images, and essential tools.

Not only that, but these saved layouts can be accessed from anywhere where you’re logged in – allowing you to work on any Divi project with your pre-built templates, optimized images, and essential tools.

The difference between saving Divi Builder elements locally and cloud is quite straightforward. When you save to your local environment, you’re saving items to a specific website, where it will only live and be accessible from that website.

Saving elements to the cloud effectively allows you to access those saved design elements across any Divi website associated with your Divi account.

How to use Divi Cloud step-by-step

You need to have an active Elegant Themes Membership in order to have access to Divi Cloud and your Divi theme needs to be up to date.

Step 1: Access the Divi Cloud

To gain access to Divi Cloud, simply enable the Visual Builder on any page and follow these simple steps:

• To access the Divi Library, click on the “+” icon located at the bottom of Divi’s toolbar.
• Look up in the top right corner and you’ll discover a blue button that reads “Sign In To Divi Cloud”. When clicked, this will generate a pop-up window where you can enter your details to log into your Elegant Themes Account.
• When signed in, your session is stored for 30 days, so you can quickly access your Cloud without needing to log back in constantly.

Step 2: Save a layout, section, row, or module to the Divi Cloud

You can save your entire page, section, row, or module just like you save it to the Divi Library. Click on the save to library icon and add your element to the Divi Library.

But this time you’ll notice a new Save To Divi Cloud option when adding it to the library interface.

By enabling this toggle you will get options to add categories and tags for easier organization.

Add existing items to the Divi Cloud

With just a few simple steps, you can easily add existing items to the Divi Cloud. In the visual builder, head over to the Add From Library tab and ensure “This Website” is selected in locations. Then click on any saved item’s 3 dots for additional options – from there simply hit ‘Move To Divi Cloud’ and your item will be added to the cloud.

Step 3: Load a layout

To load a saved layout into your page click on the + icon of the section, row, or module. If you want to import an entire page then click on the + icon of the toolbar.
